How is Syntage Score calculated?

The support docs describe 13 input variables grouped into financial statements, invoice behavior, and fiscal compliance:
  • Debt-to-equity ratio
  • Debt-to-income ratio
  • Net income
  • Gross margin
  • Net margin
  • Sales growth
  • Solvency ratio
  • Acid test
  • DSO
  • DPO
  • Compliance result
  • Issued invoice cancellation percentage
  • Received invoice cancellation percentage
The exact model and weighting are proprietary. Use the report’s visible explanations and source data to understand what each indicator represents.

Can Syntage share the formulas behind indicators?

Syntage does not share every proprietary formula. Many report cards include information icons that explain the calculation inputs or logic at a practical level. Syntage reports are calculated from information available in Data. Syntage does not validate formulas or methodologies created by individual organizations outside the product.

Why are annual comparison revenue and tax return revenue different?

They come from different sources. Annual comparison revenue is based on invoice analysis. Annual return revenue is based on what the taxpayer filed in the annual return. These can differ because of accounting decisions, tax treatments, incentives, exemptions, or other adjustments made by the taxpayer. Only the taxpayer can explain why filed revenue differs from invoiced revenue.

Why are financial statements missing?

Financial statement data may be missing when:
  • The annual return Excel file was filed with zeros.
  • The annual return Excel file was not available because the taxpayer filed audited financial statements through another SAT process.
  • The extraction failed or has not completed.
For companies, Syntage uses the annual return Excel file when SAT provides it. For individuals with business activity, Syntage may use the annual return PDF. To investigate, open Data > Annual returns > Files and review the annual return PDF and related files.
