# Onboarding

> Understand the ways entities can be connected to Syntage datasources.

Onboarding is the process of connecting an entity to the datasources your organization needs. The exact flow depends on the datasource. Some workflows use credentials, some use authorizations, and some use report or [extraction](/using-syntage/extractions) requests.

For SAT, onboarding usually means providing a CIEC or e.firma credential so Syntage can validate access and extract SAT data for the entity. For Buró de Crédito, onboarding can involve collecting the authorization required to request a report.

## Ways to onboard

* Use the Syntage dashboard when your team can complete onboarding directly in Syntage.
* Use embedded entity onboarding when you need the onboarding experience inside your own site instead of redirecting users to Syntage.
* Use the API when your integration manages credentials, authorizations, extraction requests, or report requests directly.
