# Notifications

> Manage dashboard and email notifications for product and workflow updates.

Syntage can notify you about product updates and important dashboard activity. Each user controls their own email notification preferences.

## Dashboard notifications

Dashboard notifications appear in the app when there is activity you should review. These include product release notes and workflow events such as entities being registered, assigned, or ready to review.

Product release notes appear in the dashboard when new changelog entries are published. Open **Release Notes** from the dashboard menu to review current and previous updates.

## Email notifications

Email notifications are managed from **Settings > Notifications**.

Available email notifications include:

| Notification | When it is sent | Default |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| Entity registered | When an entity is registered. This does not mean the report is ready. | Enabled based on your organization configuration |
| Entity assigned | When an entity is assigned to you. | Enabled based on your organization configuration |
| Report ready | When first-time extractions are complete and the report is ready to review. | Enabled based on your organization configuration |
| Product updates | When Syntage publishes a new product release note. | Disabled |

You can also subscribe or unsubscribe from product update emails directly from the release notes modal in the dashboard.

## Opt in or out

1. Open the dashboard.
2. Go to **Settings > Notifications**.
3. Turn each email notification on or off.

Changes apply only to your user. Other users in the same organization manage their own notification preferences.
