# Plan and billing

> Review plan limits and configure overage limits for processed entities and extractions.

[Plan and Billing](https://app.syntage.com/settings/billing) shows the limits included in your plan, current usage, prices, payment methods, and invoices. Administrators can also configure overage limits from this page so the organization can keep operating after a plan limit is reached.

## Plan limits

Syntage tracks two monthly plan limits:

| Limit | What it counts |
| ------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Processed entities | Entities (RFCs) with at least one extraction during the current month. Each entity counts once per month. Buró de Crédito and Buró Empresas reports are not counted toward this limit. |
| Extractions | Extractions created during the current month. |

For the difference between creating and processing an entity, see the [billing FAQ](/using-syntage/faq/organization-billing-and-support#what-does-processed-entity-mean).

## Configure an overage limit

An overage limit lets your organization process entities or create extractions beyond the plan limit. Only administrators can configure overage limits. For security reasons, Syntage Support cannot change them on your organization's behalf.

1. Sign in with an administrator account.
2. Open [Plan and Billing](https://app.syntage.com/settings/billing) from **Settings → Organization → Plan and billing**.
3. Under **Plan Limits**, locate **Processed entities** or **Extractions**.
4. Click **Configure**.
5. Enter the overage limit, review the **Maximum estimated cost**, and click **Save**.

Processed entities and extractions have separate overage limits. Configure each metric independently; they are also billed separately.

## How the overage limit is counted

The value you enter is the number of additional units above your plan allowance, not a new total. The configuration screen shows the **Plan Limit** from your subscription, the **Overage Limit** you enter, and the resulting **Total Limit**:

Total Limit = Plan Limit + Overage Limit

## Overage pricing and billing

* The **Cost per unit** shown in the configuration screen is the standard overage price for that metric. It can differ from the unit price included in your subscription plan. If your organization negotiated a lower overage price, the negotiated price is the one you are billed.
* Configuring or raising an overage limit does not generate a charge by itself. Only the additional units your organization actually consumes are billed. The **Maximum estimated cost** is an estimate assuming you consume the entire overage limit.
* Consumed overage units are billed separately and included in your next monthly invoice.

## When the overage limit is fully consumed

When usage reaches the total limit, Syntage stops processing additional entities or creating new extractions for the rest of the month. An administrator must raise the overage limit again or upgrade the plan to continue.

The overage limit (additional units) is capped at 200% of the plan limit, so the total limit can reach 300% of the plan limit. If you reach the cap, or you exceed your plan's capacity regularly, contact your Customer Success Manager or [Syntage Support](https://support.syntage.com) to upgrade to a higher tier. See [How do I increase my plan?](/using-syntage/faq/organization-billing-and-support#how-do-i-increase-my-plan)

## Availability

* Overage configuration is not available on trial plans.
* The configuration screen is currently designed for desktop browsers. If the **Configure** option is not usable on a mobile device, use a desktop browser.
