# Data

> Understand the raw records and files available for an entity in Syntage.

The **Data** section contains the structured records and original files retrieved from datasources. Use it when you need to validate a report, audit a source record, download a document, or build a more detailed analysis.

## Open an entity's data

1. Open [All Entities](https://app.syntage.com/entities).
2. Select the entity by RFC or legal name.
3. Open **Data**.
4. Use the left navigation to move between datasource sections.

Data appears after the corresponding [extractions](/using-syntage/extractions) finish.

## Export data

Use exports when you need data outside Syntage in CSV, Excel, PDF, or another supported format.

1. Create the export from the relevant report or data section.
2. Open [Exports](https://app.syntage.com/settings/exports).
3. Review the export status, file name, details, and available downloads.
4. Download the file when the export is finished.

Exports do not consume extractions because they only package information that has already been retrieved.

## Notifications

Syntage sends notifications for selected events, including entity onboarding, first-time extraction completion, export completion, and monitoring events.

Notification preferences are user-specific. Each user can review them from [Notifications](https://app.syntage.com/settings/notifications).
